Response to the Israel, Hamas Conflict

In our 47 years, EO has rarely seen wholistic peace within the Middle East. Skirmishes have peppered the last thirty-plus years of the region's history โ€“ multiple Gaza conflicts, two Gulf Wars, 9/11, 2nd Intifada, 2nd Lebanon War, Arab Spring, Egyptian Revolution, Syrian Civil War, and the rise and fall of ISIS. Yet, through these times of conflict, EO has continued to safely operate. By remaining in constant communication with operators, guides, and travel partners, we have returned every guest home, free from the dangers of conflict, while still delivering Journeys of a Lifetime.

EO CEO James Ridgway and Director of Logistics Ashley Weidman were in Jerusalem during the first part of this week to meet with our Israeli and Palestinian partners. Amid the current conflict, they were able to hold meetings as expected and plan for the return of normal touring operations. On Wednesday, they safely departed Israel as scheduled.

We remain united with our Israeli and Palestinian operators, guides, and trusted partners. They continue to provide us with the most up-to-date information and best ways to adapt to the ever-changing situation. Please watch James' interview with Uri Steinberg for an expert opinion regarding the current factors in the ongoing conflict.

Though the timeline is uncertain, we believe the current conflict will be short-lived and result in only a minor disruption to Israel's reopening. Previous Israeli-Gaza conflicts were resolved within a month. We continue to pray for the peace and safety of the general population in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza.
